The South Korean Group SJM celebrated on the 4th of May 2023, the opening of its most recent plant within the Tanger Med Industrial Platform. The inauguration ceremony took place in Tanger Automotive City, in the presence of Moroccan government and administration officials, as well as high-level representatives of both Tanger Med and SJM Group.
This installation is dedicated to producing flexers for the automotive industry, particularly modules and interior elements for flexible decoupling and isolation of high quality. With the second phase of investments already underway, the entire production system has been integrated, ensuring total local integration.
The new site of 4800 m2 will employ 250 workers at its full capacity, offering highly competent skills in tubing, forming, laser welding, and assembly. The geographic proximity to international markets, namely its clients in Spain, Romania, and the Czech Republic, will allow SJM to reduce its logistics costs and increase its production capacities, essentially enabling SJM FLEX to offer more job and growth opportunities to the local community.
