The Japanese group, JTEKT Corporation, inaugurated last Wednesday the 9th of October in Tangier, its new site of powertrain production.
The established 11.300 sqm plant within Tanger Automotive City, is home for Jtekt Automotive Morocco and Fuji Autotech Morocco, subsidiary of JTEKT manual steering columns.
The production commencement will take place between September 2019 and September 2020, with an expected annual capacity of 300,000 electric power steering system and 700.000 manual steering columns for the Moroccan and European car manufacturers.
This unique cooperation will strengthen JTEKT’s ability to offer a “Wheel to Wheels” solutions, consolidating its leading position in the global market.
JTEKT is a global automotive leader and the first electric power steering supplier. To note, in 2018, JTEKT achieved a turnover of 12.2 Billion Euros, with a total of 49 700 employees globally.
