Tangier, November 22, 2024 – MP Industry Group, a subsidiary of MEN Industry Group and a leading manufacturer of plastic components for the automotive industry in Romania, proudly announced the inauguration of its first plant in Tangier Automotive City within the Tanger Med industrial platform.
The inauguration ceremony was honored by the presence of H.E. Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, along with Mr. Ahmed Bennis, Managing Director of Tanger Med Zones (TMZ), Mr. Jean DRUGESCU, Chairman and CEO of Metaplast and MP Industry Group, Mr. Dan IACOBAN, Managing Director of MP Industry Group Morocco, and other senior Moroccan officials.
This significant 35,000 m² project focuses on the construction of a state-of-the-art plant specializing in the manufacture of plastic parts through granulate injection technology in steel molds. With an investment of 437.623 million dirhams, the facility is set to create 150 direct jobs, contributing to the local economy and the automotive sector’s growth.
On suchoccasion, Mr. Mezzour welcomed this event as a strategic mielstone in the development of the Moroccan Automotive Supply Chain. ” This project, developed as part of the Renault ecosystem, demonstrates once again the attractiveness of our industrial platform. The arrival of the MP Industry group in Morocco will play an active part in the deployment of the vision outlined for the sector: that of strengthening local value chains and densifying our production base. This plant, equipped with cutting-edge technologies, will help consolidate our competitive position by promoting the local production of automotive parts” . The minister went on to add “We reiterate our unwavering support for MP Industry Group to further strengthen their presence in Morocco.”
Mr. Ahmed Bennis, Managing Director of Tanger Med Zones stated “We are particularly delighted with this partnership with MP Industry and the Romanian investors. Our ambition is to contribute to strengthening their international competitiveness while continuing to promote the industrial integration of the Moroccan automotive sector.”

In line with its vision and conscious of the importance of sustainability to this sector, the group has taken care to equip its plant not only with photovoltaic panel systems, but also with several shredding and recycling lines for plastic waste.
